Flashy Chat

Every message moves billions — the receipts

The homepage says every message moves billions. That is the kind of sentence that deserves a transaction hash attached to it, so here are two.

Both are ordinary messages sent through the Flashy Chat contract. Neither did anything financially clever. Each one borrowed Morpho's entire balance of every supported token, held it for the instant the message was recorded on-chain, and repaid all of it before the transaction ended.

Ethereum Mainnet

Transaction 0xdd7cdb…13ec.

Token Amount borrowed Approx. value
cbBTC 7,325.87 ~$826M
wstETH 88,126.55 ~$446M
WBTC 46,362.66 ~$203M
ETH+ 191,136,279.74 ~$191M
USDC 21,430.99 ~$96M
weETH 60,231,447.97 ~$74M
RLP 50,615,102.65 ~$56M
yUSD 55,938,390.45 ~$55M
DAI 12,058.68 ~$50M
WETH 7,390.63 ~$32M

Plus Mog, PEPE, sUSDe, ynETHx, LBTC and others further down the list. Total across all tokens: roughly $1.9 billion, borrowed and returned inside a single transaction.

Base

Transaction 0x85765b…2747.

Token Amount borrowed Approx. value
cbBTC 13,749.73 ~$1.55B
USDC 96,291,637.73 ~$96M
wstETH 5,341.03 ~$24.5M
cbETH 5,156.46 ~$21.5M
WETH 3,777.83 ~$17M
weETH 434,326,075.07 ~$9.9M

Roughly $1.7 billion in total, again borrowed and repaid in one transaction.

How to verify this yourself

Open either hash on the explorer and look at two things.

The token transfers. You will see each token move from the Morpho contract to the Flashy Chat contract and back again, in pairs. Every borrow has a matching repayment in the same transaction — that is the whole mechanic.

The emitted events. MessageSent carries the sender and the message content. It is emitted at the point in the transaction where every borrowed token is being held simultaneously. For ads, AdSent goes further and records the full token list and the exact amount of each one, so the volume attributed to an ad is on-chain rather than asserted by a website.

The numbers are not constant

Nothing here is a fixed quantity. The contract borrows whatever Morpho happens to hold at that block, so the totals move with Morpho's balances — sometimes by hundreds of millions between one message and the next. Tokens with a zero balance are skipped automatically.

If you want the current figure rather than these historical ones, the contract exposes getFlashableAmounts(), which returns exactly what the next message or ad would borrow. The live total on the homepage comes straight from that call.

What this does not mean

It is worth being precise about the claim, because it is easy to overstate.

No money was made. No money was at risk. Nothing was traded, and no position was opened. The capital was borrowed and returned in the same instant, and the only cost was the message fee and gas.

What the transaction proves is narrower and stranger than a financial result: that a chat message can be attached, permanently and verifiably, to the largest movement of capital most people will ever have their name on.
